Epic Games has done a great job listening to its community these days. This fix is another example of that, as the competitive community has been asking for Stinger and MK7 geeks.
Well, the damage of the Stinger SMG has been reduced. The MK7 Assault Rifle only saw slightly reduced damage. And the third weapon, the Auto Shotgun, got a bonus with a faster reload speed.
They plan to evaluate these changes and follow them later with Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1. I could easily see more tweaks or even weapons reverting to their original state.

Overall, these nerfs aren't as devastating as some thought. The Stinger SMG still fires incredibly fast. It only takes one or two bullets to complete the drop.

As for the MK7 Assault Rifle, only a small damage reduction was made. It's still very accurate and its place in the Fortnite meta hasn't changed at all.
There are no other SMG options, and the MK7 remains the best choice among assault rifles. If you were worried, fear not, as the changes simply made the weapons more balanced rather than completely useless.
